For several months, this site has been showing concept videos--activated storyboards sketching the appearance of a completed advertisement. The Phillies 2008 campaign is now taking its next step by releasing its first internet-ready video commercial.
The commercial takes a fundamental libertarian stand, namely opposition to the war on Iraq. The commercial focuses on the tragedy of the war, the dead, the wounded, the wasted treasure. Still think it's a bargain? the ad asks.
The new Iraq video is ready for widescale public distribution via rebroadcasting of internet links.
Internet-ready advertising is considerably more challenging to produce than concept videos. The video features professional production standards, including animation. composed music, and multiple superposed images and text. Use of alternative video internet arrangements is expected to improve image quality
In the future, addition of a voice actor reading text and insertion of the legally-mandated message from the candidate himself will bring the ad up to broadcast television standards.
